Clinic Practicum

Overview
The clinic practicum is offered as a supplement to our STD Intensive Courses. A prerequisite for the clinic practicum is completion of either the STD Adolescent Course or STD Intensive Course. Eligible participants will have the opportunity to shadow a physician in one of the NYC Department of Health STD clinics located in New York City.

Please note: The practicum is scheduled at a time that is convenient for both you and our clinic staff, and is NOT scheduled for the date listed next to registration. The date simply means that registration is ongoing until then.
The practicum is offered on a limited basis and applicants will be scheduled on a first come, first serve basis. Please review our registration policy prior to completing the form. Registration does not guarantee confirmation to participate in the course. Those who are approved will receive a confirmation email. You may also login with your email address and password to check the approval status of your registration.

Continuing Medical Education
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention designates this educational activity for a maximum of 8 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. This activity provides 8 nursing contact hours (CNE). Non-physician CME certificates are also available.
New Jersey STD Clinical Update

Overview
The New York City STD/HIV Prevention Training Center and the New York/New Jersey AIDS Education and Training Center will host an STD Clinical Update on March 30, 2012 from 8:30AM - 3:30PM. The purpose of this training is to enhance the skills of medical providers regarding their care for their patients' sexual health.
The conference is located at the NJ Hospital Association Conference & Event Center; 760 Alexander Road Princeton, NJ. For directions click here. We invite physicians, nurses, advanced practice nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and midwives who practice in New Jersey to attend.
Objectives of the conference are to:
- Describe current STD/HIV screening strategies, diagnostic algorithms, and CDC treatment recommendations.
- Describe the public health aspects of STD care (e.g. optimal partner management, timely disease reporting).
Registration
Registration for this conference is REQUIRED and includes morning coffee, lunch and Continuing Education credits. Please review our registration policy prior to completing the form. Participants will receive a confirmation email once the registration application is processed.
Early application is suggested to ensure securing your registration and receipt of confirmation email. Those on the waitlist will be updated on their status 2 weeks prior to the course. We are not able to accomodate walk-ins.
